What the client wanted:

Design and installation of a courtyard garden for an art collector on a tight urban lot.

What we did:

Our client likes clean and sophisticated lines that allow the many beautiful pieces of art she owns to shine. We achieved this goal by building stucco planting beds and fencing in the property for privacy and aesthetics. The simple lines allow for cottage style roses and vines to climb while keeping the overall aesthetic calm. A column built by an artist the client discovered is a focal point in the new courtyard garden.

What we love:

That the wall along the garden bed functions as seating so that the small space feels much larger and can accommodate a crowd. Water trickling from a newly installed fountain creates a sense of peace upon entering the garden, and roses bloom into December in this now warmer, urban site.
