Using stormwater to create more habitat
What the client wanted:
A master naturalist, the client wanted a balanced, simple garden, but one that also created habitat for wildlife and minimized storm water run-off.
What we did:
BB installed a rain chain and directed water from the gutters into a conservation landscape. A ground layer of native sedges and perennials unifies a garden of native plants that provide food for pollinators.
What we love:
That the ‘new’ garden incorporates the collection of plants the client already had so that the garden looks like it has been there for ages, the way the swale weaves through the plantings, creating attractive structure and pleasing flow in the landscape.
