Chances are, the recipes you’ll find in this blog were inspired by Chez Panisse (besides Alice Waters’ library, Chez Panisse Cooking by Paul Bertolli is one of my favorites), Jacques Pepin, or an article from Saveur.

Many years ago, my cousin Julie, collected family recipes and stories and shared them with her cousins, aunts and uncles in a book she published called Delicious Memories.  I’m grateful for Julie’s work, and look forward to sharing some of the classic Northern Italian cooking with readers of this blog.  Thank  you, Julie, for preserving this history and these cooking traditions.

Cooking from the garden is seasonal, so recipes are tagged by the time of year.
